MADE IN ITALY DAY

MADE IN ITALY DAY
National Made in Italy Day

A day to celebrate creativity and excellence, promoting the value and quality of Italian ingenuity and products. It is not a random date ...

15 April 1452: in the village of Vinci, located between Empoli and Pistoia in Tuscany, Leonardo, destined to become the paradigm of Italian genius, was born. It is on this day, therefore, that a specific date has been chosen to celebrate Italian creativity since 2024. The symbol is the Vitruvian Man, a pen and ink drawing by Leonardo da Vinci, preserved, but not exhibited, in the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice. A famous representation of the ideal proportions of the human body, it attempts to demonstrate how it can be harmoniously inscribed in the two 'perfect' figures of the circle, symbolising divine perfection, and the square, symbolising the Earth. The design is based on that sketched by the Roman architect Marcus Vitruvius Pollio (Latin: Marcus Vitruvius Pollio; Formia, c. 80 BC - after c. 15 BC), a Roman architect and writer, active in the second half of the 1st century BC, considered the most famous architectural theorist of all time. His treatise De Architectura was the foundation of Western architecture until the end of the 19th century.

As creators and manufacturers of new and special cutting tools, we believe in and support Made in Italy and its historical, social, economic values.
